Which? Magazine Claims PPI Should Be Refunded After Judicial Review
Which? Magazine has advised its readers to quickly proceed with asking their lenders for a return of all money paid into PPI. This personal protection insurance was sold to protect the consumer if they found themselves unable to make their payments because of health or employment issues. Unfortunately, what may have started out as a great idea, quickly turned into a bad idea. The PPI was often sold to people who did not qualify. The first group that was often sold the PPI that did not qualify was those with health conditions.
Almost any health condition, including asthma and migraines should have meant the person could not buy the insurance. The second group that was often sold the insurance and was ineligible were those who were unemployed, including housewives and the retired, those who got their full salaries rather they worked or not, and those who were unemployed. Those who were sold the insurance illegally should contact their lender and provide the information. This should be done as soon as possible and in writing. They should also send a letter to the financial ombudsman.
